Per-pillar disclaimers for SK Pulse content.
Last updated: May 30, 2026
General Disclaimer
SK Pulse is an independent publication operated by IPLA P.A., a California S-corporation established in 2005. All content on the site is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the site constitutes legal, tax, financial, or investment advice, and nothing on the site creates an attorney–client, accountant–client, or advisor–client relationship.
This page provides content-specific disclaimers for each of the publication's three editorial pillars and for the interactive calculators that support them. Site-wide legal terms are governed by the Terms and Conditions, and data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
Author Scope and Licensure
SK Pulse is written by an experienced patent practice professional with 20-plus years of front-line U.S. patent practice coordinating with licensed U.S. patent attorneys at IPLA P.A. The author is not a licensed attorney and not a registered patent agent. The author cannot represent applicants before the USPTO, file patent applications on behalf of applicants, render formal legal opinions, or take on legal representation in any matter.
IPLA P.A. provides bilingual coordination between East Asian clients — including Korean and Japanese clients — and U.S. licensed patent attorneys. That coordination service is provided by IPLA P.A. as a business, separately from any content published on SK Pulse. Engaging IPLA P.A. for coordination does not establish an attorney–client relationship between the client and IPLA P.A., or between the client and the author; legal representation, if any, is provided by the licensed U.S. patent attorney engaged through that coordination.
Patent and IP Content
Content under Protecting Ideas carries disclaimers specific to U.S. patent practice:
- Patent articles and the patent cost calculator are educational tools, not legal advice. They do not analyze the patentability of any specific invention, the validity of any specific claim, or the strength of any specific application.
- USPTO fee schedules, claim rules, multiple dependent claim (MDC) rules, application size surcharges, and maintenance fee amounts change over time. SK Pulse makes a reasonable effort to update content when official figures change, but does not warrant that any specific number on the site is current at the moment of use. The authoritative source is the USPTO's published fee schedule and rules.
- Cost projections produced by the patent cost calculator are estimates based on the inputs the visitor provides. They do not include attorney fees, drawing costs, requests for continued examination, appeals, PCT filings, foreign filings, search fees, extensions, or any other fees outside the scope explicitly described in the calculator's methodology section.
- Entity status — Large, Small, or Micro — must be self-determined by each applicant under the USPTO's rules. Misrepresentation of entity status is a federal offense and is not something SK Pulse can verify on behalf of a visitor.
- Patent strategy, prosecution decisions, and IP enforcement decisions should be made in consultation with a registered U.S. patent attorney or patent agent. SK Pulse explicitly cannot serve in that role.
Cross-Border Business Content
Content under Borderless Business carries disclaimers specific to cross-border operations:
- Articles and tools related to U.S. S-corporation operations, U.S. tax obligations of expats, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, the Physical Presence Test, the Bona Fide Residence Test, visa and residency frameworks (including Thailand's DTV, U.S. expat residency, and similar programs), and similar topics are educational only.
- Tax outcomes, residency outcomes, and entity-level outcomes depend on the visitor's specific facts, jurisdiction, and timing. The same input numbers can produce different results in different years, in different jurisdictions, and under different individual circumstances.
- SK Pulse does not provide individualized tax advice and is not a U.S. enrolled agent, CPA, or tax attorney. The visitor should consult a qualified, licensed U.S. tax professional — and, where relevant, a tax professional in their country of residence — before relying on any cross-border tax framing presented on the site.
- Visa, residency, and immigration frameworks change frequently and vary by nationality, visa class, and consular policy. The visitor should always verify current rules directly with the relevant embassy, consulate, or licensed immigration counsel before making travel, residency, or business decisions.
Cross-Border Money Content
Content under Cross-Border Money carries disclaimers specific to remittance, FX, and fintech topics:
- Articles and tools related to international remittance, FX spreads, telegraphic transfer (TT) fees, SWIFT routing, correspondent and receiving-bank fees, stablecoin payout rails, and fintech transfer apps (such as Wise, Wirebarley, SentBe, Remitly, or Western Union) are educational only and are not financial advice, investment advice, or a regulatory recommendation.
- Fee data, exchange rates, and FX preferential rates referenced on the site are based on publicly available bank disclosures, fintech provider terms, and corridor-level analysis at the time of publication. They may be outdated by the moment the visitor reads them. The visitor should always verify the day's actual rate and fee structure directly with the bank or provider before sending money.
- Worked examples involving sample amounts, such as 1,000,000 KRW converted to USD, and sample preferential rates, such as a 90% FX preferential rate, are illustrative simulations using representative figures. They are not live quotes and are not a promise of the rate or fee any specific visitor will receive.
- Korean foreign exchange controls, U.S. reporting obligations such as FBAR and FATCA, and similar cross-border money regulations apply regardless of which platform a visitor uses. SK Pulse cannot determine on behalf of a visitor whether a particular transfer is permitted, reportable, or taxable under the laws applicable to that visitor.
- The visitor should consult their licensed bank, a registered money transfer operator, or a qualified financial professional before relying on any specific fee, rate, or corridor comparison presented on the site.
Interactive Calculators and Tools
The calculators that support all three pillars carry their own set of disclaimers:
- The interactive calculators at https://sk-pulse.com/calculators/ are educational simulations, not financial, legal, or tax instruments.
- Each calculator is built on inputs and assumptions disclosed on its own page in a methodology section. Outputs depend entirely on the inputs the visitor provides.
- Calculators run entirely in the visitor's browser. Calculator inputs are not transmitted to or stored by SK Pulse. SK Pulse has no record of any specific calculation a visitor performs.
- Underlying figures — fee schedules, rates, regulatory thresholds — change over time. SK Pulse updates calculators when official figures change, but cannot guarantee that any specific number shown is current at the moment of use.
- Output from a calculator is not a quote, not a binding estimate, not a fee schedule, and not a legal opinion. The visitor is responsible for verifying outputs against an official source — the USPTO, the IRS, the Korean Financial Supervisory Service, the visitor's bank, or the visitor's licensed tax or legal professional — before making any financial, legal, or business decision based on a result.
Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content
Where an article on SK Pulse includes an affiliate link — for example, an Amazon Associates link to a product reviewed in a tech content article — the relationship is disclosed clearly within that specific article. SK Pulse may receive a small commission on qualifying purchases made through such links. The presence of an affiliate link does not change the editorial position taken in the article in which it appears.
SK Pulse does not accept payment for editorial coverage in exchange for omitting an affiliate or sponsorship disclosure. Where a piece is sponsored, the sponsorship is disclosed at the top of that piece. If a visitor identifies an undisclosed commercial relationship, they are encouraged to report it to contact@sk-pulse.com for correction.
External Links
SK Pulse routinely links to external sites — USPTO pages, IRS publications, bank fee schedules, fintech provider terms, regulatory authorities, news sources, and similar. SK Pulse does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms of any external site. The inclusion of any external link does not imply endorsement of the linked site or its operator. Visitors use external links at their own risk and should review the terms and privacy practices of any external site they choose to visit.
Reporting an Error
SK Pulse takes content accuracy seriously and acts on legitimate corrections as soon as the relevant source can be verified. If a visitor identifies a factual error, an outdated figure, a broken calculator output, or any other accuracy problem, they are encouraged to report it to contact@sk-pulse.com with as much specificity as possible — article URL, paragraph or calculator field, and a source supporting the correction.
The Editorial Policy describes the publication's correction process in more detail.
